So here I will try my best to give you information about Triund Trek or Triund Hill.

Triund Hill

Triund Hill is situated in the hills of Dhauladhar in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.Triund Hill gives you very beautiful and panoramic views of kangra Velley. It is located at an altitude of 2850(9350 feet aprox) meters.Triund Hill is situated in the lap of Himalayas.Triund Trek is most popular trek in Dharamshala Himachal Pradesh.Dharamshala is a popular tourist destination in Himachal pradesh. lots of tourist indian's and foreigners come here to visit His Holliness Dalai Lama temple. This place is full of spirituality,lama's,Tibetan culture ,Buddhism,peace, green Himalayas ,waterfalls,Trekking Routes,Spirituality and many more.Triund trek is neither too difficult nor too easy you can do it by solo or in groups also.This trek is started from Dharamkot (galu temple) Mecleod Ganj.

How to reach Triund:

There is a well situation of connectivity to Dharamshala by texi,rail,as well as air also and then to Mecleod-Ganj from where the trek start.

By Road:

There are many bus and texi services available to reach here from different places.Those who can drive they can reach Mecleod-Ganj by their car in 9-10 hours from Delhi and from Pathankot they can reach here in 2-3 hours.

Many private volvo buses also running from Mecleod Ganj to Delhi and Delhi to Mecleod Ganj.

By Air:

The nearest airport is Gaggal airport which is at 18-20 KM far from Mecleod-Ganj.The flights are available here from delhi and jaipur.

By Train:

The nearest railway station is Kangra railway station.The rails are running on this route only from Pathankot .If you want to come Mecleod-Ganj from Delhi so first you have to reach Pathankot then take a train to Kangra and from Kangra you can take texi or bus to reach Mecleod Ganj.

Trek to Triund starts from Mecleod-Ganj with total trek distance of 8-9 KM from one way but you can ride till Gallu temple by texi or auto.by this you can save one or two hours walking time.

Best time for Triund Trek:

From my opinion March to mid June and Oct-Nov is the best time to visit Triund.

In monsoon the trail becomes little bit sleepry so it beomes risky.And in month of Dec to feb it is filled with full snow

Things to carry on Triund Treck

Keeping some suncreem and sun cap is good.
Keep a reusable water bottel.
If you are planing to go for day hike so keep some snacks and packed launch.
Carry your own trekking gear and equipment and we always prepared.
Carry good quality hiking shoes or sports shoes.
Carry a medical aid kitt.
Carry some warm clothes with you because in hills weather change so fast.

if you are going for night stay then carry your own tents or rent tents in advance.

There are two more options for stay at night in Triund are Guest houses one is forest and one private .Forest guest house you can book from DFO office Dharamshala and private you can book in Dharamkot.
